Holiday Letter

Sorry this is late everyone, we wrote a Christmas letter for all our family that we sent out before Christmas and I wanted to post it for all our friends to read also. I didn't get a chance to do it until now. So without further-ado here it is! Merry late Christmas and Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas!
We hope this letter finds you all well and happy during this Christmas season. Kevin and I are writing this letter to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We also wanted to let everybody know what we have been doing with our lives the last year.
For the last year Kevin and I went to school from January to July at Brigham Young University-Idaho. We are working hard to finish our degrees. Kevin is currently going to school for Electrical Engineering and I am going to school for Early Childhood/Special Education. We have been off-track from August to December. Kevin got a job at Luxon Video, which is a Security Surveillance Company, after our last semester ended. People who buy their merchandise call Kevin for help to fix or set up their Security Systems. He also got another job last month at a place called The Craze. The Craze is the local family fun place. He was hired to help upgrade the laser tag system. He loves this job and is working to make it his full time job. I had a job with a company called Opinionology. I did political surveys and a few other kinds of surveys. It was a challenging job and I learned quite a lot from it.
In October we learned some news that will change our lives forever, we are pregnant. We announced our very exciting news over Thanksgiving and it is such a relief to be able to talk about it. Our baby is due June 24th and is so far very healthy. I heard his/her heartbeat just a few days ago. It was very strong. We are very excited for this new addition to our family and we are working hard to prepare for this change. Before this baby comes, we are planning to move to a new apartment that is in a more family friendly environment. We are also planning on getting a car that will be better for our family.
This next year, I will start school in January again and Kevin will keep working his two jobs until spring. In spring, I will take a semester off, since there is no way I am going to have a baby in the middle of a semester, and Kevin will go back to school. That has been our year and it has been a great year. We are very excited to celebrate Christmas and the New Year with our family and friends here in Rexburg. This next year will be bringing about many new things and we can’t wait.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year family and friends. We are so grateful to have all of you in our lives and we are sad we can’t be with each and every one of you during this wonderful time of year.
Love,
Kevin and Lisa Milne

Moved In

We have finally moved to Rexburg. It was a pretty crazy week. I did all my hw in about 2 days then I packed the rest of the week. My old roommate Kim was amazing. She came over and helped me for a whole day. I don't know what I would have done without her. Then Kevin's family came on Friday and helped me clean and finish packing. We are so blessed to have such amazing family and friends. Kevin had to work all week so I had to do everything pretty much by myself. Without them, it definitely wouldn't have gotten done on time.We got everything into the truck on Friday and drove to Rexburg Saturday morning. I drove Kevin's car while he drove the moving truck. When we got to Rexburg, Kevin's old roommate Gustav met us at the apartment and so did my old roommate, Alisha, and her Fiancee Teague. With their help, everything was moved into our new place in about 30 min. Can I say again, WE ARE SO BLESSED! Now we are in the process of unpacking. Its taking alot longer then I hoped but that is because we are just lazy. HAHA! I will post pictures when its all set up. The apartment is awesome. We absolutely love it. Its newly remodeled and has all new appliances. How awesome is that?? There aren't even nail holes in the wall. We will be fixing that soon though. The one bad thing is we had to leave our couch behind because we couldn't get it out of our old apartment so we are forced to sit on the floor in the living room until we find a decent couch that we can get down into our apartment. Hopefully we will find one soon. We have only been here 4 days and I am already tired of sitting on the floor. lol! Well that is the update for now. Pictures will come soon!

First time Blogger

I am finally breaking down and getting a blog like everyone else I know. haha! Well I guess I will start from the beginning.
Kevin and I met at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho. We were in the same FHE group and he was FHE Dad. Kevin and I didn't really get to know each other right away. I was dating someone back home so, of course, I wasn't interested in dating anyone else and he liked someone else too. Our two apartments became really close over the next two semesters. We all did almost everything together. Near the end of the our first semester is when Kevin and I started to become close. We took alot of walks together and he would just listen to me talk. He became a very close friend. After our two semesters together, I went home for my off track and he came to Provo to find a job. I saw him once during those five months when my family was in Provo for a family reunion. My family met him and after he left they all told me how perfect he was for me. I told them what I had told all our friends in Rexburg who said the same thing. I was not interested. He was like a brother. Man, did that change fast. After that meeting, we didn't talk to each other again for a few months. We finally started talking again December of 2010. I had really missed him and it was nice to have my friend to talk to again. He had decided he wasn't going back to Rexburg, which I was very disappointed about. He was going to go to UVU in Orem instead. Around New Years, I was flying to Salt Lake and taking the shuttle to Rexburg. I asked him if he would pick me up from the Airport and take me to my grandparents, where I was going to stay for the night before I took the shuttle to school. He said yes only if he could take me on a date. I reluctantly said yes. ; )

A few days before I flew in, he texted me and said he wasn't going to make it because he was snowed in at his parents house. So we didn't get to go on our date and I went back to school without seeing him again. I didn't think anything would happen after that, so I started dating another guy who turned out to be totally different then I thought he was. Later on in the semester, my brother Joe asked me if I would drive to Salt Lake with him for a weekend to pick up his wife from the airport. Of course I said yes and I told Kevin I would be there. He asked me on a date and the rest is history. He picked me up from my grandparents and I was so happy to see him. I had missed him more then I thought I had. He took me to In-N-Out since I had never been there before and then we went to the movies and saw Tangled, only the best Disney movie EVER!! The whole time during the movie I remember sitting there with our arms touching and hoping he would just hold my hand. After the movie, we went back to my Grandparents house and played pool and watched Avatar the Last Airbender. It was the best date I had ever been on. No awkward silences or weird filler conversations that neither person was interested in. We talked freely the whole time, laughed and remembered why were such great friends. When he left, I remember sitting there wondering what had just happened. The date had started with me feeling happy to see an old friend and being very happy with our friendship, but when it ended I wanted more then just friendship. Things changed so fast and I in shock. I went back to Rexburg to my amazing roommates rubbing it in my face that they were right.

Kevin came up to visit a couple weeks after that and we had so much fun. Before he left, we had THE talk. We talked about how we felt about each other and where we wanted to go with it. It ended up with us cuddling on the couch of my apartment living room and then he left with me wondering if we were boyfriend and girlfriend or not. There were so many questions. A few weeks after that, he surprised me and came up for my birthday. It was the most wonderful surprise ever and one of the best days of my life. The morning he surprised me, my roommates and I went to the temple to do baptisms and I sat there and thought of him the whole time hoping he would come even though he said he wasn't. When we got back from the temple my roommates made a big fuss making sure I got in the shower and did my hair all nice and make up because I was going over to my brothers for a birthday dinner. My brother called and said he was in the parking lot so I said I would be down in a minute. I walked out the door with my roommates breathing down my neck, watching my ever move and there was Kevin walking up the stairs. I was so happy. We got in the car and drove to my brothers. It was like a dream. We were holding hands and cuddling the whole time we were at Joe's. On the way back to my apartment he finally asked the question, "Would you be my Girlfriend." Of course, I said YES!!! We got back to the apartment and all our friends came over for a huge birthday party. It was an amazing day that I will never forget. The next day, my actual birthday, was very quiet and simple. We just enjoyed the little time we had together.

For the next couple months we went back and forth from rexburg and provo. I would go to Provo every two weeks and he would come to rexburg whenever he could. That was how our relationship went for the rest of the time. We dated for about 3 months before he asked me to marry him in May. I was in Provo for the weekend and he brought me to our favorite park, Bicentennial Park. We played on the playground for a little while and messed around with his camera. We eventually ended up in front of his truck with the lights on and the camera on the hood of the truck while I taught him how to dance a little. During our little dance, he turned me around and held me from behind while getting something out of his back pocket. He then turned me around to face him and got on one knee. I said "YES!!" and all of this is on camera. Two weeks after that we went to Washington so he could officially meet my parents and my wonderful roommate Sonja came up from Portland to take our engagement pictures.

We were engaged for 3 months and got Married August, 26th 2011 in the Portland Temple. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. Most of our Family and friends were there to share our joy. The reception was in Covington, Washington the next day and after that we flew to Vegas for a wonderful week long Honeymoon. Our hotel was amazing and we were in a dream. Eventually we had to leave our wonderful hotel room and go back to reality where we currently reside. We are now living happily in Provo until sometime in March or April when we will be moving back to Rexburg to continue our education on campus instead of online, which is what we are both doing now. Online classes are ok but its not the same as actually taking classes on campus. We are excited to move back. That my friends is the beginning of our wonderful story. It is my fairy tale. I love my husband and I am excited to spend the rest of my life with him and to start a family with him. Have I mentioned how baby hungry I am yet?? I am SOOOOO baby hungry but there is no news of that yet. Maybe someday I hope sooner then later. Until next time.
